Eva Vasquez-Camacho, Treasurer

Born in Texas and raised in Californiaís Central Valley, Eva Vasquez-Camacho comes from a farm worker family. After graduating from Delano High School with honors in 1987, Vasquez-Camacho earned a B.A. degree in political science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1992.

She served as an assistant to United Farm Workers President Cesar Chavez in 1992-93, becoming manager for the unionís contract-negotiating and administration division.

From 1993 to 1998, she was administrator for the law firm run by UFW General Counsel Marcos Camacho. In 1999-2000, Vasquez-Camacho was local census office manager in Kern County for the U.S. Department of Commerceís Bureau of the Census.

She has worked organizing and carrying out numerous informational and political campaigns, ranging from statewide, congressional, legislative, city and county election drives to one of the largest voter registration efforts in Central Valley history.

Other professional endeavors include working with the leadership of the California state Assembly, county elected officials as well as handling media and community-based consulting on grants, resourcing and program review and evaluation.

Vasquez-Camacho joined the National Farm Workers Service Center Inc. board of directors in 1993.

Her numerous community-based activities include member of the Kern County Water Agency, Central Valley Grant Review Committee member, the Womenís Foundation and the Environmental Justice Advisory Board of the California Environmental Protection Agency.

Vasquez-Camacho and her husband, Marcos Camacho, reside in Bakersfield with their three daughters.
